This Group meets weekly in High School term times in Merton Hall, Ponteland. Since the Covid Pandemic we meet in the Hall’s large room so that each of the members have their own table. Our regular meetings are on a Tuesday morning from 10.00am to 12.30pm and we devise a programme of topics for a term with each member suggesting a title. These titles tend to be general in nature allowing for individual interpretation and choice of media. Occasionally, a particular medium, such as pastels, is suggested but mostly members make their own selection. The only medium we do not use is oil because the setting is not suitable for it. We have found that having suggested topics is stimulating, leading to research and creativity. However, members are not obliged to follow the plan and can always choose their own subject or complete work already started. From to time, a member will lead a session to share their expertise on a particular topic or skill.

We share the cost of renting the room and the cost of refreshments such as hot drinks and biscuits. The management of the Hall no longer supplies refreshments nor allow us to store any at the Hall, therefore we bring our own mugs etc,

We are a friendly group including all levels of ability and we gather at the end of each session to look over our work with suggestions and kind support.
